Buffalo cauliflower is definitely one of my favorite treats! The best is from Sage in Culver City, CA. I’ve tried to do my best to mimic it here. This is great to make as a snack for movies or game days or just to eat! It’s spicy though so be careful. I serve it with Follow Your Heart Blue Cheese vegan dressing. Enjoy!
1 large head of cauliflower
Whole Wheat Flower or gluten free flour of your choice
1/2 cup of Tabasco sauce
1/2 cup of coconut oil
1 1/2 tablespoons white vinegar
1/4 teaspoon vegan worcestershire sauce
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 tablespoon paprika
1/8 teaspoon garlic powder (I omit this as me & garlic don’t get along!)
salt to taste
Wash & chop cauliflower to bite size pieces
Set to steam while you prepare the sauce
Put all sauce ingredients (Tabasco sauce, coconut oil, white vinegar, worcestershire sauce, cayenne, paprika, & salt) in a small saucepan and heat on low.
Once the cauliflower is tender, remove cauliflower from heat so it doesn’t get too mushy. Prepare a large baking tray with foil and set oven to 350 degrees.
Take two mixing bowls, put flower in one and heated sauce in the other. While oven is preheating, dredge the cauliflower in the flour and then in the sauce. Once completely covered, place on the baking tray. Repeat until all are covered and ready.
Bake in the oven for 15 minutes then turn and bake another 10 mins or so, until each side is crispy. Remove from heat and serve once cooled with Blue Cheese dressing of your choice.
