Joshua Tree, CA
Joshua Tree was a desert dream. We stayed at a lovely casita in the desert and mainly hiked and took in the amazing nature that is out there. The park and the stars were incredibly calming and I came back to LA wanting to return to that quiet immediately. We also stopped to see the Cabazon dinosaurs and some of the ongoing Desert X installations in nearby Palm Springs. Full post on the trip here on the blog.
My trip to MBFWA was awesome. The people were spectacularly nice and I had such a blast. I caught the tail end of the warm weather before their full winter came on. Sydney reminds a little bit of London and a little bit of Los Angeles; two of my fav cities, no wonder I loved it! Go over to the blog page here for full story.
I loved Maui, it’s the kind of place that makes you want to quit your life and move there; it’s that beautiful! Check out my full blog post here on my recommendations and experiences.
Paris, my love! My love affair with this city started when I did a summer art history course there in my last year of college. It’s still an enchanting place and impossible to not fall in love all over again each time I go. It’s very different to go there for work though as instead of running around the city like a tourist, I had to work! I still enjoyed some good food and shopping as we stayed near Place Vendome, a beautiful area.
Milan is a beautiful city, despite what the Italians say (although I can see why in comparison to Rome and Florence) it’s more industrial. I went for work so I mainly go to experience the commerce side of Milan and its excellent food. I have never tasted food so good as in Milan. Hands down. 10 Corso Como is a favorite shopping spot and I did mention to get lost one day on a bike, which turned out to be quite fun once I found my way home.
This was my second trip to Florence, both for work and to visit the Pitti Uomo fair. This time around though I was there for women’s wear (my fav) and having been my second time, I was able to enjoy some more sights like the cathedrals and some shopping at Luisa Via Roma. My time there was short, sadly, and followed by a quick train ride down to Milan for the rest of prefall market.
Holiday in Puerto Vallarta
Puerto Vallarta is only 2.5 hours via plane from Los Angeles. We stayed in a boutique hotel called Villa Premiere, that was on the beach but also super close to Old town, where the city was first settled and where the locals hang out. It was wonderfully relaxing and I blissfully forgot all my real life worries while away, which I hear is the exact point of a vacation.
Big Sur, CA
We went to Big Sur, California for Thanksgiving 2014. We stayed in a lovely house found on VRBO, which is similar to airbnb but advertised by the owner. We pretty much hiked, ate, drank and played parlor games-aka Dominos and Heads Up for 4 days! The drive from LA to Big Sur and back is incredibly picturesque, I highly recommend you do it at least once!
Road Trip Across America
These are from our road trip from Brooklyn, NY to Los Angeles, CA. We decided to take time off from work and make several stops along the way, our route was NY to NJ (a last stop at my mom’s) to Cincinnati, Cincinnati to Nashville, Nashville to New Orleans, New Orleans to Austin, Austin to Marfa, Marfa to Tuscon and then Tuscon to Los Angeles. Here are some highlights of my favorites photos.
